Custom name patches put a different name on every patch, all in one layout with your font, colors and border. They come in embroidered, woven, PVC or printed, in sizes from 3.5 × 1 in to 5 × 1 in or custom. The 25-piece minimum counts across your whole order, so 25 patches with 25 different names is a complete order. Standard embroidered name patches are $7.95 each for 25 to 49 (25 is $198.75 total) and $6.95 each at 50 ($347.50 total), with a different name on every patch if you like. Orders above 50 are custom quoted. You send the names as a list and we check every one before production.
One design, a list of names.
A name patch is a small patch, usually a rectangle or an oval, that carries a person's name and sometimes a title, rank or role. On a work shirt it sits over the chest pocket; on a military-style uniform it is the name tape above the pocket; on a club vest it carries a member's road name.
What makes a name order different from a regular patch order is the list. The design is set once, with the font, colors, border and size, and then every name on your list goes into that same layout. You approve the layout, we check each name against your list, and the whole set is made together.
Your list, one approved layout.
Getting every name right matters more than anything else on a name order. This is how we make sure it is.
Send the list
A spreadsheet with one name per row, spelled exactly as it should read, plus any second line such as a title or rank in its own column.
Approve the layout
Your Digital Mockup shows the layout at real size with your longest name, so you can see it reads clearly. Mockup revisions are free.
Every name checked
Before production we check each name against your list. Then we make one representative Production Proof, a real patch with a name from your list, and send you photos to approve.
Sizes that fit where names go.
These are the sizes most name orders use. We make any size you need, and other shapes, like ovals, are made to order.
| Size | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 3.5 × 1 in | Work shirts and polos, over the chest pocket |
| 4 × 1 in | Uniform shirts and jackets |
| 4.5 × 1.25 in | Work jackets, vests and coveralls |
| 5 × 1 in | Military-style name tapes |
Not sure what size suits your uniform? The size and placement guide shows where patches usually go, and we confirm the size on your Digital Mockup.
Pick the build, then how it attaches.
Embroidered
Raised thread lettering, the classic look on work shirts and uniforms. Bold and easy to read from a distance.
Woven
Finer threads, so small or thin lettering stays crisp and the patch sits flatter. A good fit for long names or a second line of text.
PVC
Molded rubber lettering that stands up to water, mud and hard wear. A common pick for tactical gear and outdoor crews.
Printed
The name printed onto smooth fabric, so detailed fonts and color blends come through cleanly. Light and flat.
| Backing | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Sew-on | Included | Uniforms that are washed often. The most permanent hold. |
| Iron-on | On your quote | Cotton and poly blends that can take a heat press. |
| Velcro (hook) | On your quote | Tactical and military-style uniforms with a loop panel for the name tape. Both sides included. |
The backing guide compares how each one attaches and holds.
Where name patches get worn.
Crews and staff
Mechanics, technicians, drivers and service crews, with each person's name over the chest pocket and the company logo patch alongside.
Name tapes
Name tapes for military-style and tactical uniforms, often with velcro backing. Whether a patch is authorized for wear is the unit's call.
Road names and member patches
Road names and member name patches for club vests, made to sit with the rest of the club's set.
Fire, police and EMS
Name patches for station and duty uniforms, matched to the colors of the department's other patches.
Teams and leagues
Player and coach names for jackets, bags and warm-ups, in the team's colors.
Schools, scouts and volunteers
Names for jackets, vests and volunteer uniforms, with the layout saved so next year's names start from it.

You approve before production

Name patch questions, answered.
What is the minimum order for name patches?+
The 25-piece minimum counts across your whole order, so 25 patches with 25 different names is a complete order. Send the full list with your quote request and we confirm the whole order together.
How much do custom name patches cost?+
Standard embroidered name patches are $7.95 each for 25 to 49 (25 is $198.75 total) and $6.95 each at 50 ($347.50 total), with a different name on every patch if you like. Orders above 50 are custom quoted. These prices are for a standard embroidered name patch: one approved layout with a different name or number on each patch, in a standard name patch size (3.5 × 1 in to 5 × 1 in) with sew-on backing. Woven, PVC and printed name patches, other sizes, specialty construction such as metallic thread or 3D puff, and iron-on or velcro backing are priced on your quote. Artwork setup for the layout and shipping to the 48 contiguous US states are included, and your quote shows the exact total before you pay anything.
How do I send the names?+
A spreadsheet works best: one name per row, spelled exactly as it should appear, with any second line (a title or a rank) in its own column. We set one layout for the order, with the font, colors, border and size, and every name goes into that layout. Before production we check every name against your list.
Can a name patch have a second line, like a title or rank?+
Yes, at no extra cost. Put the second line, such as a title, rank or department, in its own column on your list and it goes into the same layout under the name.
Which fonts can I choose?+
Pick from our standard set of fonts, or send your own font file and we set your names in it. Your Digital Mockup shows the font at real size before the Production Proof is made.
How long do name patches take?+
The same time as any other patch order. A name order goes through the same steps: deposit, Digital Mockup, one Production Proof, then the rest of your names.
What if some names are long?+
Tell us the longest name when you request a quote. Your Digital Mockup shows that name at its real size, so you can see that it reads clearly before the Production Proof is made. If it is tight, we suggest a slightly larger patch or a different font rather than shrinking the letters until they blur.
Can I add names later for new hires or new members?+
Yes. Your approved layout is saved to your design record, so an order of new names starts from the design you already approved instead of from scratch. Send the new names and we quote them.
Which backing should I choose for name patches?+
Sew-on is the most permanent and suits uniforms that get washed often. Iron-on works on many cotton and poly blends that can take a heat press. Velcro suits tactical and military-style uniforms that have a loop panel for the name tape, and both sides are included. Our backing guide compares them in full.
